Brent & Celeste

Brent and Celeste Johnson have been singing and writing music together since they were teenagers. In the years since, they've performed their music and led worship in a variety of venues, for crowds as large as 3,000 or as small as one (and that was in an empty coffee house where the only person there was the kid behind the counter wearing headphones).

One characteristic of their music is its adaptability. Whatever the context-indoor or outdoor, spacious church/arena or around a campfire, huge sound system to none-their songs can find their way to the heart of the people there. It is that moment of connection in a live setting with an audience or a congregation that makes their music the most alive. That's what it's about for this singer/songwriter duo.

They've considered a community called Warm Beach their home for the last eight years, near Stanwood, Washington, where Brent serves as a pastor at the Warm Beach Free Methodist Church. In 2008 they traveled to Ethiopia to bring home two little girls to be younger sisters to their two boys, and now those four kids keep them running. In the earliest stages of recording "Presence" the family drove to the midwest listening to demos of songs across the states and the kids actually had a part in choosing which songs ended up on the record. They can pick out a hook. And they belt it out at the top of their lungs!
